Mounts enjoy strong week

The Ephrata Mounts boys volleyball team continued their winning ways this past week. The Mounts (5-3) are pushing for a playoff spot in the section, while doing quite well in tournaments on the weekends as well.
This past week was no exeception either, as the Mounts earned a pair of wins, including Monday's (4/23) 3-0 non-league victory at home over McCaskey.
Monday night, the Mounts were dominant, as they quickly disposed of the Red Tornado. Ephrata took all three games by scores of 25-8, 25-17 and 25-13.
Nick Martin earned a team-high seven kills while Kyle Church added three aces in the victory. Jermiah Yang also contributed three aces in the Mounts' win.
Last Thursday, the Mounts also earned a 3-1 victory over visiting Elizabethtown in Section two action.
After dropping game one by a 21-25 score, Ephrata ran off three straight wins to secure the team win. The Mounts wins in Games two through Four were by scores of 25-21, 25-15 and 25-23.
Church had a stellar night at the net, recording a team high 16 kills. martin added three blocks and Yang chipped in with three aces for the winners.
The Mounts have also enjoyed tournament success the last two weekends as they have advanced out of pool play and into the bracket portion of both the Cocalico Tournament and the Warwick Tournament.
The Mounts are back in action on Tuesday for their last home game as they take on Garden Spot. The Mounts are then on the road for the last four games of the season.
