Mules defeat Mounts

ImageLast night (12/14) the wrestling had the first home dual meet of the season. Though the hopes are high for this season last night displayed there is still work to be done. The Mounts lost to the Golden Mules of Solanco, 48-22.

Picking up victories were Jordan Becker, Mike Evans, Corey Horst, and Blake Crowther. Becker continued his pinning ways with another first period fall, which makes 6 falls in 8 wins, both of which lead the team. Both Evans and Horst picked up forfeits at 112 and 119.

Blake Crowther closed out the night with an 11-3 victory. Blake kept pace with Becker with his team-leading 8th win in this young season while extending his lead in most takedowns.

The Mounts were without three starters last night. James and Zach Zimmerman were battling illness and injuries and will return within the next week. The third starter that was out was one who was expected to miss all season while recovering from an injury sustained during football. He is Jamar Horst and looks to make his return next week, two months prior to the original date. Jamar will help to solidify the line-up, leaving only the 103-pound weight class open.

The Mounts are in action this weekend at the Hanover Duals competing with several schools: Hanover, North Penn, Norristown, Springfield Township, Warwick, Hamburg, Boiling Springs, and Gettysburg.
