Ephrata versus Lampeter-Strasburg Tonight!


ImageThe Ephrata Mounts Ice Hockey team (10-4) takes on Lampeter-Strasburg (9-3-2) in a contest that may ultimately decide the race for second place in the Lancaster-Lebanon-Berks Tier 2 of the Central Pennsylvania Ice Hockey League.

The game is scheduled for Monday Night February 12th at the Body Zone (directions ). They are scheduled to drop the puck at 8:45.

Tonight's matchup will be a prequel for the league playoffs. Ephrata eliminated from 1st place will face the Pioneers again in the first round of the playoffs, regardless of the outcome tonight.

Earlier this year the Mounts defeated the Pioneers 4-1. The Pioneers come in with three players that have amassed 10 or more points this year, starting with #5 Matt Kramer whose 37 points (18 goals, 19 assists) are the 16th best point total in the league. The Pioneers also feature #44 Alec Collins (8G, 11A) and #66 Cody Andrews (5G, 5A).

In the cage for the Pioneers is #33 Andrew Shaubach currently ranked 17th in the league with a 3.00 goals allowed average, and an impressive 88.3 save percentage.

The Mounts will counter with an impressive offense that features the 15th and 18th ranked scoring leaders in #8 Shane Allen (14G, 24A) and #15 Brandon Pike (22G, 13A). Other Mounts with over 10 points include #58 Tim Wanner (15G, 4A); #34 Sam Wiest (7G, 6A); #32 Kyle Sauder (4G, 7A); and #2 Keith Sauder (6G, 4A).

Guarding the net for the Mounts will be senior Devon Williams whose 2.57 goals against average is currently good for 12th best in the league. Williams also sports an 83.5 save percentage.
