As far as statements go, they don’t get much bigger than the one Manheim Township’s boys’ lacrosse team made Friday night.

The Blue Streaks’ game at Ephrata was forecasted to be a thrilling drama between two of the best teams in the L-L League.

Mounts stop Comets


Behind a strong performance from starting pitcher Austin Lowrey and a pair of timely hits from shortstop Nate Fassnacht, host Ephrata (9-2 L-L, 10-2 overall) earned a 3-1 win over Penn Manor (8-4 L-L, 10-5 overall) in a Section One-Two crossover baseball game Wednesday night.

Pitching Pushes Ephrata to Another Win


Following complete games Wednesday and Thursday by Ephrata mound mates Gavilan Fogarty-Harnish and Austin Lowrey, respectively, Morgan Stauffer was hoping to continue the trend.

Mounting Another Charge


The Ephrata girls' track team is once again proving the axiom that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
But the Mountaineers do have some really good parts.
 
Led by four wins from junior Kelly Liebl, the two-time defending section champion Mounts (3-0 L-L) took down host Garden Spot (2-1) by a 95 1/2-54 1/2 margin Wednesday in a Section Two dual meet with title implications.
 
On the boys' side, the reigning section champ Spartans (3-0) got three wins from Malik Parsons en route to an 85-64 triumph over the Mounts (0-3).
