ImageEphrata is in decent shape to secure its first playoff spot under second-year Coach Chris Dutton, the Lady Mounts did drop out of their first-place tie with CV this past week following a 2-0 loss at Manheim Central Friday afternoon.
Janelle Hess scored a goal in each half to give the Barons the big win in a game MC outshot the Lady Mounts, 17-8.
The Lady Mounts did rebound Monday with a solid 3-1 victory at hove over L-S.
In that one, Ephrata led 2-1 late before Kate Hertzler scored a big insurance goal. Melissa Newton and Arielle Gordon scored the other two goals for the Lady Mounts while goalie Becca Cetkowski turned away six shots.
