Burridge wins Prelim, Mounts win last two matches

ImageEphrata's Shane Burridge easily defeated Lampeter-Strasburg's Peter Whitlock in straight sets 6-0, 6-1, to punch his ticket to the Flight 3 league finals.
His luck would not carry over in doubles however, as Ephrata's top doubles team of Matt Harms and Burridge were defeated in Flight One, losing to Alex Risser and Bob Watson of Cedar Crest by a 6-4, 6-2 decision.
The Mounts tennis team closed the season strong winning their last two contests.
Last Thursday at home vs. Garden Spot, the Mounts swept both doubles matches to pull out a 5-2 decision over the Spartans.
In that one, Harms and Burridge teamed for a 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 10-6 win in the first doubles while Brad Sweigart and Cameron Auker added a convincing 6-2, 6-0 victory in the second match.
In singles play, Harms, Sweigart and Burridge all were winners as well.
The Mounts also earned a 4-3 non-league decision on the road at Pequea Valley last Wednesday.
In that one, Ephrata got singles wins from Sweigart, Burridge and Auker to pave the way to the team win.
