Mounts shot down by Manheim Central

ImageThe Ephrata high School rifle team fell victim to a sharp-shooting Manheim Central team Tuesday afternoon as the Barons cruised to a 495-472 victory in the regular-season finale.

All five Manheim Central shooters scored 98 or higher, including Anna Auker, who scored a perfect 100.

Ephrata was led by Danielle Zimmerman, who turned in a team-high score of 97. Caitlin Mull with 96 was next, followed by the trio of Laurelin Smith, Sammi Whitcomb and John Landis, all of whom turned in scores of 93.

In addition to Tuesday's action, Ephrata was also on the range last Thursday (1/26) where they dropped a 493-478 decision to Manheim Township.

Katie Blackman sparked the victorious Streaks with a perfect score of 100.

Ephrata received fine shooting from Landis, who led the way with a 98. Mike Snader followed with a 96, whild Zimmerman (95), Whitcomb (95) and Smith (94) rounded out the top five for the Mounts.

With the regular season now complete, Ephrata will take aim on the L-L League Tournament which it will host this Saturday, beginning at 9 AM.
