Girls Sweep Meet

ImageThe Ephrata Mounts girls cross country team has 9 girls that can consistently run under 23 minutes, while this is a good thing for league meets, it's going to leave to Mounts on the outside looking in when Districts arrive.

Until then however, the Mounts will benefit from their deep depth. Tuesday afternoon was no different as the Mounts easily defeated Cedar Crest (18-43), Lampeter-Strasburg (20-43), Columbia (20-43) and Conestoga Valley (19-41).

Five Lady Mounts cracked the top 5, while 4 finished inside the top 25. Leading the way for the Mounts was Alicia Harbold who finished third with a time of 20:49. Brynn Lyons (5th; 21:31), Samantha Fink (7th; 21:34), Kelly Holst (8th; 21:35) and Jaime Singer (9th; 21:36) rounded out the top 10 scoring.

Also running well were Amber Davies (11th; 21:39), Dana Haas (14th; 21:47), Leah Sipe (17th; 22:11) and Kate Anderson (22nd; 22:40).

The Boy didn't fair as well, but they did avoid the sweep by defeating Columbia 20-36. The Mounts fell to CV 44-15, Cedar Crest 35-24, and narrowly lost to Lampeter-Strasburg 31-26.

Givi Pavagashvili led the Mounts with a 9th place finish with a time of 18:02. Brad Sweigart (10th; 18:10) and Niraj Amin (12th; 18:16) also placed for the Mounts.
