Mounts shutout Central

ImageThe Ephrata Mounts soccer team blasted the Manheim Central Barons 4-0 to take sole possession of first place in Section 2. Dan Hagey may have set a new Mountaineer record by scoring a goal 11 seconds into a match. Making the goal even more impressive was the fact that the Barons started the game with possession of the ball. Hagey added another score at 18:05, and less than a minute later Paul McHenry found the back of the net to put the Mounts up 3-0 before the break.

Dan Hagey made it a hat trick with his third goal 75 minutes into the contest to end the scoring.

Josh Peifer pitched another shutout for the Mounts, recording 3 saves off of six shots, and added an assist for good measure. Paul McHenry (2) and Tom Renko (1) also had assists for the Mounts.

The Barons fall to 3-1-0 in section play, while the Mounts moved to 3-0-1.
