Girls Cross Country Sweep Match

ImageThe Ephrata Mounts Girls Cross Country team put on a stunning display Tuesday night as the Mounts placed five runners in the top 10, and seven in the top 20.

Amber Davies led the Mounts with a strong 2nd place finish with a time of 21:26. Ephrata then filled slots 6 through 9 as Jamie Singer (22:15), Alicia Harbold (22:35), Brynn Lyons (22:51) and Samantha Fink (23:05) all ran strong.

Dana Haas (23:46) finished 16th and Kelly Holst (23:53) finished 17th. The girls team easily defeated Solanco and Donegal both by a score of 19-40. And handled Warwick 24-33. The meet the first of the year for the Lady Mounts lifts their record to 3-0.

The boys team didn't fair as well as they defeated Donegal 27-30, but dropped matches to Solanco (45-19) and Donegal (55-15). Givi Palagashvill led the Mounts with a fifth place showing and a time of 18:25, while Brad Sweigart (8th; 18:35) and Niraj Amin (15th; 19:45) also placed for the Mounts.
