Mounts Golf Team splits Opener

ImageThe Ephrata Mounts golf team opened the season with a solid showing at Hawk Valley. Alan Kliewer led the Mounts with a 5 over par 77, which was 3rd best overall on the day. Randy Little (Solanco) led all golfers with a 71, while Elizabethtown's Aaran VanDeuriser turned in a 76.

Steven Tretter was 2nd for the Mounts (7th overall) with an 84. The Mounts defeated Lebanon 442-595 and Garden Spot 442-482, while losing to Elizabethtown 442-432 and Solanco 442-430.

Rounding out the top 5 for Ephrata was Eric Beamesderfer (92), Logan Maurer (94), and Kyle Morgan (95).

The Mounts will be in action again Thursday (8/25) as they take on Lancaster Country Day at the Crossgates golf course. Tee time is currently scheduled for 2:00.
