McCaskey handles Ephrata


They dropped two straight decisions to open their nonleague season.
 
They were handled by Chester in their most recent outing last Tuesday.
 
So was Friday night's L-L boys' basketball opener against Ephrata a statement game for reigning league champion McCaskey?

Wrestling Team notches historical win number 400


The Mounts wrestling team went 3-2 this past weekend at the season opening Ephrata Duals Tournament. With the three victories the Mounts notched career win number 400, and now stand at 401 wins following the conclusion of the tournament.

Ethan Sipe was outstanding for the Mounts, earning three pins and 2 major decisions finishing the tournament at 5-0. Bobby Nye also escaped the weekend without a loss finishing at 3-0. Todd Dumas went 4-1 and picked up four pins along the way for the Mounts as well.

The Mounts are in action again this coming weekend [Dec. 14-15] when they travel to Carlisle for the Carlisle Tournament.

Lady Mounts fall in Finals


The Lady Mounts enjoyed a successful opening tournament to the 2012-13 season this past weekend. Turning back the Manheim Central Barons in the opener 45-22 and losing a close game to Fleetwood in the finals 30-35.

Sarah Haddon poured in 27 points over the two games with 13 against the Barons and 14 in the championship. Sarah Hoffer scored 18 points [11 and 7], and Hannah Reimel had 13 points [9 and 4] in the tip off tournament.

The Mounts jumped out to a 15-12 lead at halftime against Fleetwood but a 3-16 third quarter left the Mounts trailing after three quarters.

The Lady Mounts are in action again on Wednesday December 12th when they travel to play Exeter.
