Lady Mounts bow out of States

There hadn’t been a corner kick all game. So, when Central Bucks East found itself with three in succession with just under 17 minutes remaining and the scored tied in its PIAA Class AAA first-round girls soccer game, it knew the opportunity had arrived to win the game.
And the Patriots did just that, as Paige Weiss’ third corner in 30 seconds was knocked back and forth in front of the goal, and teammate Maddie Myrtetus finished it off for the game-winner.
East held on to defeat District Three’s Ephrata 2-1 at William Tennent on Tuesday night, and advanced to Saturday’s quarterfinal round.
