Palmyra Tops Ephrata

Folks might look at Wednesday’s final score of the Ephrata Holiday Tournament championship game and think Palmyra handily thumped the host Mounts in a 6344 victory. But the game was much closer than the score suggests.

Those six points in the final four seconds of the quarter were a microcosm of how the Section Two opener went for the two squads.

Elizabethtown couldn’t find the basket and the Mountaineers couldn’t miss as Ephrata rolled to an impressive 63-39 road victory.

"They have some tremendous shooters," Ephrata coach Mike Garman said, "and Patti Hower, I have so much respect for her. She's just an unbelievable coach."
